The oldest fully-intact carpet in the world is the “Pazyryk carpet”, which dates from the 5th-4th century BC and is famed for its rich colours and border of griffins, though of course carpets date much further back than twenty five centuries. One local company in that line of business, Benems, is kicking into celebratory mode this September as they celebrate their anniversary of a rather magnificent twenty five years.
